Saturday, December 10 Work at Macdonald Block

NOTICE OF UPCOMING WORK
Queen’s Park Reconstruction Project

WHAT IS HAPPENING?

A small Unmanned Aerial Vehicle – commonly known as a Drone – will be used by contractor Industrial Skyworks to conduct a survey of the Macdonald Block Podium and the Hearst, Hepburn, Mowat and Ferguson Towers.

WHEN?

The work is weather dependent. At this point, the survey is expected to occur on Saturday December 10 between 7am and 6pm. A second survey date will also be required either on Saturday, December 17 or Sunday, December 18, 2016.

WHY?

The survey will assess the condition of the roof and exterior stone walls of the Macdonald Block Complex.

HOW WILL THIS AFFECT ME?

This work is not expected to be noisy but will result in some pedestrian restrictions around the Complex. There may also be intermittent, short-term lane traffic closures on Bay St. and Wellesley St. while the drone is in flight. Toronto police will be on-site to direct traffic.

These pedestrian and traffic restrictions are necessary to comply with the clearances required by Transport Canada for unmanned aerial vehicles.

We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation.
