Removal of HBC Pedestrian Bridge on Queen Street West

 

Please be advised of the following update:

As part of Hudson Bay Company's new pedestrian bridge project, the next phase which involves the removal of the existing pedestrian bridge will be completed this weekend.

To facilitate the removal of the bridge, the full closure of Queen Street West, between Yonge Street and Bay Street will be required.

Queen Street West will be fully closed beginning at 11:30 pm on Friday May 19th and will reopen no later than 5:00 am Monday May 22nd.

There will also be no access to James Street as it is within the work area.

Eastbound and westbound traffic will be redirected at Bay Street and Yonge Street respectively.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times, however there will be periodic stoppages during the hoist.

Police will be present to assist with pedestrian and vehicular movements during the operation.
